Rainbow Six: A Book Review

Rainbow Six (Jack Ryan, #10)Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

My husband and I listened to this one over 24-26 hours worth of road trip... and still had about 2 hours of book left to listen to when we got home! The first part of this book, I'll admit I ended up sleeping through a lot of it. Something about the reader's voice just put me to sleep when the characters weren't doing anything particularly exciting. However, I did enjoy what I did hear. The characters were well developed. (Perhaps a little too well for my general taste, making the whole book too long for me.) The second half of the book was most exciting and intriguing. This is my first foray into Clancy and the Jack Ryan series. I don't know that I'll read anymore simply, because they are really long. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to devote to reading as much as I'd like anymore and I have a feeling I would never finish it. I can't leave a book unfinished once begun. Just can't. However, I can see why my husband who can breeze through 300-400 pages in a day would love this and has read this and other Clancy novels often.
